Types of FDA membership
FDA membership starts from just £6.50 a month, and gives you access to protection at work, collective representation from a team of public service experts, tailored professional development opportunities, and a range of member discounts and benefits.
What’s more, we’ve frozen all the subscription rates listed below until 2022, meaning there’s never been a better time to join the FDA.
Full FDA membership for those at Grade 7 and above
For most FDA members, the following subscription rates will apply, and are based on your salary:

Full FDA membership for those at HEO and SEO grades
Staff at civil service grades HEO and SEO, and their equivalents, join a special section of the FDA called Keystone. Keystone members have access to all the benefits of FDA membership.
Keystone subscriptions cost £16.50 per month for those who work more than 24 hours per week on average, and £8 per month for those who work 24 hours or less each week. For more information on Keystone rates and benefits and to sign up, visit the dedicated Keystone website.
Full FDA membership for Fast Stream and equivalent schemes
Fast Streamers and others civil servants on equivalent training schemes get their first six months of FDA membership completely free. After that, you’ll pay just £12 per month, and have access to the full FDA membership package.
Associate FDA membership for those leaving public service or retiring
The benefits of FDA membership don’t have to end just because you’re leaving the public service or retiring. Our Associate Membership costs just £3.99 a month and allows you to continue to receive:
• extensive discounts via FDA Portfolio
• a copy of Public Service Magazine each quarter
• regular email newsletters from the FDA
• access to the members' area of the FDA website
• the FDA diary and calendar
