FAQs
The Association of Revenue and Customs (ARC) is a section of the FDA union, which represents members in HMRC. The FDA has a federal structure, with branches/centres representing particular workplaces, and sections representing particular professional groups. As a member of the FDA working in HMRC, you will also be a member of our ARC section and also your local ARC centre.
ARC centres are the body responsible for the recruitment of members in their workplace and for representing their views to HQ. Every HMRC workplace is represented by an ARC centre. For example, a member who works at HMRC’s Nottingham hub will belong to ARC Nottingham centre. Each centre has a committee of elected members responsible for local business and providing practical support for members.
ARC holds an Annual General Meeting in different locations across the UK. Members and centres are given the opportunity to put forward motions and to set ARC’s priorities and policies for the coming year.
