On Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th May, FDA staff and the FDA MoJ branch held an event at 102 Petty France. We were keen to talk to existing members about any concerns they have about the upcoming transformation programme in the department and to raise awareness of the FDA offer to those not already a member of a trade union.
Over the course of the two days we spoke to more than 50 existing members, with many expressing an interest in becoming more actively involved in the work their union does. There are lots of opportunities available at the MoJ, including paid facility time to take on the role of branch convenor - if you'd like to find out more, contact Victoria@fda.org.uk
The event at Petty France was also a great opportunity to speak to potential members. At a time of uncertainty it can be really positive to have conversations with colleagues about the support the FDA can provide. Staff from FDA HQ were happy to help new members join on the day and provided promotional material and freebies for the stall.
Over the next few months we'll be visiting a number of departments. To find out when we'll be coming to your office, or for more information on how to promote the FDA in your department, please contact Rebecca@fda.org.uk
