Following announcement by BIS Permanent Secretary, Martin Donnelly, on plans to close BIS' Sheffield Office, FDA's National officer responsible for BIS, Helen Kenny told Civil Service World:
"We are disappointed by the decision, and by the fact that we have not been consulted about it or even informed in advance of the announcement."
The BIS Sheffield office with 247 staff is, according to the announcement, due to close by 2018 and have its policy and corporate work moved to central London.
The FDA will be seeking a meeting as a matter of urgency to discuss the issues arising from this closure and will keep members informed of any progress and, of course, provide all appropriate support.
