Union calls for fair treatment of General Teaching Council staff

Responding to today's announcement that the General Teaching Council (GTC) is to be abolished, Nick Sahlqvist, FDA negotiator for the GTC, said:

"The decision to close down the General Teaching Council will result in real and immediate concern for many staff.

"The FDA - along with the other unions - will be insisting that staff are treated fairly and seeking urgent discussions about the way the rundown is managed."
